On Friday's children in KS1 participate in Pioneers and KS2 children participate in House Games.
What is Pioneers? The Pioneer Scheme focuses on outdoor learning - it incorporates outdoor learning activities (similar to forest school), environmental education, field studies and outdoor skills, all linked to the curriculum. For example, children will take part in nature scavenger hunts, den-building, creating environmental art and sculptures. They will have the opportunity to interact with a natural landscape and each other to develop social and technical skills whilst also developing confidence and independence. Children will be assisted by Y6 Pioneer leaders.
What is House Games? All students at Eaton Primary School are part of a school house; Franklin, Fleming, Goodall and Hawking. During house games students split into their house teams, providing an opportunity for students to work and cooperate with students in other classes/year groups and take part in competitive and non-competitive games and activities against the other houses.
Please note PE days are listed in the Friday Bell every week and any changes to PE days will be communicated there.

What does my child need to bring to school?
We ask that your child brings a named water bottle to school every day.
If you are ordering a hot dinner you need to do this by 9am via The Pantry Catering, or send your child with a home packed lunch. These should include an ice pack and ensure that their are no nuts or sesame products.
Children do spend a portion of their time outside every day so we request that you always send a coat/sunhat if appropriate.
Please ensure all belongings are named.
What do I do if another adult is collecting my child?
If your child is being collected by anyone other than a parent, then please advise the office of this via email or telephone and preferably before 2pm.
On your registration form we will ask for names of emergency contacts who are able to collect your child at any time. If you wish to add an adult ad-hoc then please email the School Office.
Please always state your child’s full name and class when communicating with the school as this helps to speed up responses. You can email the office via office@eatonprimary.org.uk
What do I do if my child requires medication?
For any ongoing needs please ensure that you list these on your registration form and our first aider will then be in touch to complete a Medical Care Plan. For ad-hoc medication you will need to complete a 'Medicine Administer Form' at the School Office before this can be prescribed.
Please refer to https://www.eatonprimary.org.uk/Medicines/ for more information and a copy of the form.
What do I do if my child is unwell?
Should your child not be able to attend school at any point, please email or call the school office before 8:30am to advise us of this.
We can then mark their absence on our register, Please note we will not be able to cancel any pre-booked lunches so you will have to do this directly on The Pantry website to avoid any charges.
What do I do if my child is running late?
The school gates are locked at 8:50am and any arrivals after this time must enter through the School Office so we can ensure they are added to the fire register.
If your child has not arrived by 9am and we have not received notification of illness, absence or appointment, then we will start calling emergency contacts.
Therefore if you know you are running late and will not arrive by 9am, we would appreciate a call/email so we can note this down.
If you will be absent due to an appointment, we will require evidence of this to be able to change the register code to 'Medical'.
What if we need time off for a non-sickness absence?
All leaves of absences that are non-sickness related require a Leave of Absence form to be submitted at least two weeks in advance.
