We offer an exciting range of clubs which your child can get involved with.

The following is what is being offered during the Summer term.

 Clubs and Music Newsletter - Autumn 2026

 

Netball (Monday's 3:15-4:15pm) Y3-Y6

Monday 7th September to Monday 23rd October.  

Mrs Moggan plays in division one for the Norwich Netball League and will be running mixed lessons on Mondays 3:15-4:15pm.

Bookings are open on Arbor (Student Profile-Activity: Trips – Netball Club (Autumn Term). Those who are currently enrolled with Netball Club, will need to sign up for the new term. If full, please email the School Office to be added to a waiting list.

Cost: FREE

Please note that this club will be weather dependent, and we will advise you of cancellations via an in-app Arbor notification.

Uke Club- Mondays (Y1-Y2) and Wednesdays (Y3-Y4)

Monday: Years 1 & 2 (7th September – 7th December)

Wednesday: Years 3 & 4 (9th September – 9th December)

Lessons are 45minutes and run from 3:15-4pm. 

Ukulele Club helps children develop musical skills while also building confidence, improving wellbeing and creating a sense of belonging.Children will learn to hold and strum the ukulele, play chords, accompany songs, create their own music and develop performance skills in a relaxed, encouraging environment. Clubs take place after school in The Hub, with each session lasting 45 minutes and accommodating up to 15 children. Throughout the term, pupils have opportunities to celebrate their achievements through occasional performances, recordings and videos, and play-along videos are provided to support practice at home.

Cost: £90 for the term, payable in three monthly instalments of £30 (invoices sent by email on 1 September, 1 October and 1 November).

Mrs Duthie-Carr's Choir (Tuesdays) Y3-Y6 3:15-4pm

Tuesday 7th September to Tuesday 8th December (No lesson 10th November due to Parent’s Evening)

Mrs Duthie-Carr will be continuing with her KS2 auditioned choir on Tuesdays 3:15-4pm (first lesson Tuesday 7th September) and all students currently enrolled with her will have an automatic place. Please advise us if your child no longer wishes to continue.

Cost: FREE

Auditions to join will be held in the Autumn term. We will notify all parents of this date in advance.

Mr Gardner's Choir (Tuesdays) Y1-Y6 3:15-4pm

Tuesday 7th September to Tuesday 8th December (No lesson 10th November due to Parent’s Evening)

Cost: FREE

Ronin Karate - Tuesdays 3:15-4:15pm for YR-Y2 & Wednesdays 3:15-4:15pm for Y3-Y6

 

RONIN Karate was launched in 2014 by four professional instructors passionate about creating a club producing high quality Shotokan Karate, where students of all ages and abilities receive the best possible training from experienced and committed instructors.

Head Instructor Jake Pointer is currently a 5th Dan Black Belt which is almost unheard of for his young age. Sensei Jake also has won multiple national and international titles over his 25 years of Karate experience. Our After School Clubs act very much like our normal classes. Students will learn the same syllabus and will be given the chance to grade through their belts and work towards the coveted Black Belt. 

Tuesday 8th September to Tuesday 8th December (No lesson on Tuesday 10th November due to Parent’s Evening )

RONIN Karate – Little Ninjas Karate is a new and fun way for young children to enjoy the wonders of martial arts in a safe environment. Run by Jake Pointer.

Cost: £5 per session. £60 Autumn Term (12 weeks)

Y3 to Y6 (Wednesdays 3:15-4:15pm)

Wednesday 9th September to Wednesday 9th December (No lesson 14th October due to school disco)

Shotokan Karate is an ideal sport for all ages. It builds self-confidence, balance, fitness, co-ordination and discipline, while learning the art of defending yourself. Run by Jake Pointer.

Cost: £5 per session. £60 Autumn Term (12 weeks)

 Please note that children do not require a uniform to attend afterschool clubs and will be barefoot during lessons.

Drama Club (Act Out Education) Thursdays 3:15-4:15pm - Y3 to Y6

Thursday 10th September to Thursday 10th December (No lesson on Thursday 12th November due to Parent’s Evening)

Jump into drama games, crafts, props, parachutes, and improv with professional actor Rosalind from Act Out Education! Make friends, get creative, and express yourself in a fun, welcoming space. Put on mini shows each week!

Cost: £7.50 per session  (12 weeks) = £90 for the Autumn  Term.

Pupil Premium fee £6.50 per session. = £78 for the Summer Term.

Norfolk Music Service Orchestra Y3-Y6  Thursdays 

The Norfolk Music Service run Orchestra on Thursdays 3.15-4.15pm for students that currently have music tuition inside or outside of school (students must have their own instrument or have been provided one by NMS as part of their lessons).

 

 

The school orchestra regularly performs at the Norfolk Music Festival, Norfolk Show and for school events.

Cost: £5.50 per week (Autumn 1= 6 weeks at £33)

Those who are currently enrolled with Orchestra, will need to sign up for the new term.

 

Gymnastics - Fridays 3:15-4:15pm - Reception to Year 3

Premier have partnered up with British Gymnastics to become their only nationwide primary school delivery partner. As a ‘foundation sport’, gymnastics uses strength, stability, flexibility, coordination and balance and has been shown to improve attention span.

It’s all about teaching children the fundamental movement skills they need to lead a physically active and healthy life, full of sport and recreation.

This course runs from Friday 11th September to Friday 11th December (No lesson on 23rd October due to an INSET day)

Cost: £7 per session  (12 weeks) = £84 for the Summer Term.

Rocksteady (Reception to Y6) Mondays

Rocksteady attends Eaton Primary School on Mondays to perform music lessons during the school day.

Lessons are open for children from Reception to Y6 and they can choose to play either vocals, electric guitar, drums, bass, or keyboards in their very own band. All instruments are provided and no previous experience is necessary.

Children progress through a 300-skill curriculum learning band, performance and instrument skills and work towards the official Rocksteady Ofqual-regulated, exam-free music qualification, accredited by Trinity College London.

You can follow your child’s progress through your own online portal via the Rocksteady Parent Timeline as well as seeing how far your child has come when they perform in their termly concert.

Norfolk Music Service Lessons - Violin, Brass, Woodwind, and Keyboard

 Keyboard (Y2-Y6)

  • Violin (Y3-Y6)
  • Brass (Y3-Y6) Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, French Horn
  • Woodwind (Y3-Y6) Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe 

Norfolk Music Service run lessons during school hours which are currently £3.70 per week, inclusive of instrument hire (excluding keyboard). Children who are ‘Pupil Premium’ can receive a 50% discount on NMS music lessons.

Payment for music lessons are termly in advance, and we require a term’s notice to withdraw. To withdraw, please email the School Office in writing and if we are able to fill the child’s space earlier with someone on a waiting list we will refund accordingly.

Currently violin and keyboard lessons are on Tuesdays, with brass on Wednesdays and Woodwind on Friday's.

NMS also run an afterschool Orchestra club – see Clubs section.

Mrs Duthie-Carr's Music Lessons (Recorder, Keyboard & Flute)

  • Recorder (Y2-Y6)
  • Keyboard (Y2-Y6)
  • Flute (Y3-Y6)

Mrs Duthie-Carr offers keyboard, recorder and flute lessons for students at £3.70 per weekly session (payable termly). This is taught on a self-employed basis by Mrs Duthie-Carr with booking via the School Office. All lessons take place in 5DC classroom.

Please note that instrument hire is not included, however, school keyboards can be used for lessons.

  • Beginners keyboard takes place on Thursdays at 8am in 5DC, with a second class at 12:20pm. 
  • Recorder takes place on Wednesdays at 8am.
  • Beginners flute takes place on Wednesdays at 12:20pm and Intermediate flute on Fridays at 12:20pm.. Children may also be invited to take part in Flute Choir which is 8am on Fridays.

Lessons last 25 minutes.

Please email office@eatonprimary.org.uk  stating your child's name/class and desired instrument. If these classes are full, then your child will be offered the chance to join the waiting list, or we will pass on Mrs Duthie-Carr’s details to arrange payment direct with her and be advised which class your child should attend.
